Endometriosis awareness month 2019: 3 ways to get involved

Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women in the UK yet it’s a condition that can take up to 7.5 years to diagnose. Like many reproductive health conditions, we need to raise awareness and make change happen to support those affected by the chronic condition. Here’s how you can get involved in March for endometriosis awareness month.

Officially endometriosis awareness week takes place the first week of March every year! But activities run throughout March. We’ve included a list of a few key events or fundraising opportunities below:

Endo the Night

Overdue a catch up with family or friends? Or simply want an excuse to throw a party? Well, this is the perfect opportunity! You can raise money for Endometriosis UK by organising a get together with your family and friends in March. It can be a dinner party, pamper night, book club, quiz night, movie night or whatever takes your fancy!

How to get involved:

Arrange your ‘Endo the Night’ for an evening in March. Invite your family and friends and ask them for a small donation to attend or collect donations throughout the night. The idea is that you not only raise funds but also raise awareness amongst event attendees. The Endo the Night by Endometriosis UK fundraising pack includes all you need to get started, find out more here.

Endo March

EndoMarch is a global movement. People all over the world will be taking to the streets armed with banners and posters, marching to raise awareness of Endometriosis. You can also participate in a virtual EndoMarch if you’re keen to get involved but cannot attend a march.

How to get involved?

The March is welcome to everyone and typically takes place on 30th March HOWEVER the London EndoMarch takes place 23rd March. In the UK, marches are taking place in Cardiff, Llandudno and Glasgow too! Although there might be a March taking place near you, find out more here.

The Future of Living with Endometriosis Event

Emerald & Tiger and The Femedic are teaming up to celebrate the work of 3 women challenging what it means to live with Endometriosis. The event includes 3 short TED-style talks followed by energy healing meditation lead by Emerald & Tiger.

This event is all about education, empowerment and wellness! Attendees will hear from Saschan Fearon-Josephs (founder of The Womb Room), Tara Scott (Moody Month) and Dr Stella Bullo (Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University). Plus, enjoy nourishing teas and plant-based drinks. Attendees also get their hands on a wellness goody bag which including some TOTM samples!

How to get involved?

The event takes place 14th March at 42 Acres in Shoreditch, London (starts at 7:30 pm). Tickets are priced at £15, find out more here.

Don’t forget to keep your eye on socials too for plenty of endo awareness throughout March! TOTM is proud to support Endometriosis UK. Stay tuned for our catch-up blog with them with updates on the work they are doing to support anyone affected by endometriosis. The post will be shared on our socials – @totmorganic
