TOTM (Time Of The Month) is thrilled to announce the Gynaecological Cancer Fund as their Charity of the Year for 2017. TOTM is encouraging women to be kinder to their vaginas with a range of organic cotton tampons, pads and liners, via a unique subscription service.
As the femcare company’s exclusive charity partner for the year, TOTM will be donating 10p from every pack sold online from January to December 2017. They will also be taking part in a full calendar of fundraising events and initiatives to support the Gynaecological Cancer Fund’s Lady Garden campaign, which aims to empower women everywhere to talk more openly [about their vaginas/ gynaecological health] without shyness or shame.
Launched in 2014, the Gynaecological Cancer Fund’s mission is to raise funds for research into improved diagnosis and treatment of the five gynaecological cancers (cervical, ovarian, womb, vaginal and vulval) and increase awareness of these cancers.
They have committed to raise £750,000 over 3 years for research led by Dr Susana Banerjee at The Royal Marsden into targeted treatment for women with gynaecological cancers.
Mika Simmons, Founder of the Gynaecological Cancer Fund, commented: “Many women are embarrassed to talk about their gynaecological concerns. Both TOTM and the Gynaecological Cancer Fund are passionate about women’s health and are on a mission to help more women be confident about their bodies. Having so many highly influential, hugely admired celebrities and influencers back our campaign helps break these taboos and normalise the conversations. We love what TOTM stand for and are thrilled to have them on board for 2017, their support is invaluable in helping us achieve our fundraising targets.”
St.John Burke, Co-Founder of TOTM, commented: “As a company targeted at women and promoting women’s health, we were keen to partner with a likeminded charity and the Gynaecological Cancer Fund is a natural fit. Mika and her team have been incredibly supportive of what we’re trying to achieve as a pioneering start-up and we look forward to what the next year will bring.”
