Bloggers Edit: What’s In My Handbag?

If you have ever wondered what handbag essentials lifestyle and beauty bloggers swear by, then this post is a must read.

Bloggers often delight us with insightful posts, reviews and recommendations. Their social feeds serve as the ultimate inspo, helping us discover the latest brands and useful tips.

I personally love following bloggers on social media for all the reasons above. I also admittedly do like to be a bit ‘nosey’. Bloggers give you a glimpse into their world. They let you know all about their day to day lives and it’s always an interesting read/watch.

How did this blog come about?

In March TOTM an image of our tampons featured in an article about Emma Watson’s Beauty and the Beast press tour essentials published via Into the Gloss. An Instagram user mentioned that they loved seeing what Emma used day to day. They also loved that it gave a chance to discover natural beauty brands. When buying cosmetics, it can be difficult knowing where to look. This article gave us a chance to discover new brands and get ‘Emma’s look.’

I loved the idea of going behind the scenes to discover someone’s daily essentials. I thought what better question to ask then ‘what’s in your handbag?’. We carefully select what we carry around with us to work, on our commute etc. Being a fan of many bloggers I decided to point this question in their direction!

Here’s what they had to say…

Becky’s handbag essentials:
“My handbag is filled with essentials for an on-the-go blogger. I’ve got my camera, portable phone charger, Filofax diary and Smythson notebook for planning all my ideas. Then I have a few beauty essentials, a compact Tangle Teezer for my hair, my Favourite Chanel perfume and MAC lip-gloss. I’m also never without a Invisibobble hair tie and a fab little bag so if it’s that time of the month I have something to dispose of my TOTM products in!”

  • A water bottle,
  • The book I’m currently reading (this is Let it Out my Katie Dalebout),
  • A toy car (my son has so many of these and one always ends up in my bag!),
  • Red tinted lip balm,
  • NEOM organics de-stress spray,
  • Gold hair pins,

Amber’s handbag essentials:
“I mostly keep a few essential items in my handbag that I use on a day-to-day basis. My bag is vegan, from the company Matt & Nat and I have the purse to match. I keep my sunglasses, gym band, keys and diary in my bag along with a lipstick (or two), a natural lip balm and my business & blog cards in case I find an occasion to hand them out!”

Besma is a lifestyle blogger who shows us how we can live a more sustainable, healthier lifestyle. Her blog Curiously Conscious is a go-to source for insights on healthy food, natural beauty, ethical style and sustainable living. You can also catch up with Besma on Twitter and Instagram.

Besma’s handbag essentials:
“Since swapping to a lighter and more compact saddle bag from Matt & Nat, I’ve had to really cut down on what I carry around!

My essential items are (of course) my keys, phone, and card holder. I have contactless cards which make it easy to swoosh around London, and a railcard which I make full use of seeing as I don’t have a car.

Makeup wise, I also travel light. I have a small pot of concealer from RMS Beauty, which is great for touch-ups on the go and is designed to be used with your fingertips. A handy addition to that is my hand sanitiser – I have this organic one from Botanicals – to make sure my hands are clean!

Then I have a few items I throw in and take out depending on the weather, and what my schedule is for the day. For blog work, it’s my Canon G7x and business cards, and then a swap between my sunglasses or umbrella, although the capricious British weather has caught me out a few times!”
